FAQs

Do I have to have an entire package with games and entertainment, etc. or can I just order the food?
You certainly can order just the food for delivery and setup or with limited service. It’s up to you. If you decide that in addition to the food you do want us to handle the fun, you may select one of our packages or our experienced event planners are here to help with all the details of customizing your event.

Can we handle our own beverage service?
Absolutely! If you want to make it a little easier on yourself, you may want to order the ice and/or tubs through us.

Is there a reduced meal price for children?
Yes, except on packages. On our non-package menus, children ages 3-10 are half the adult meal price and children under 3 are free. If you have 50 or more children, you can order a special priced separate buffet for them, if you wish.

If I order multiple entrees, how many do you figure per person?
Good question. Unlike some caterers who list multiple entrees in their menus but are only figuring one entree overall per person, we figure 1.5 to 2 entrees per person, depending on the entrees selected. (To figure less would mean that you would undoubtedly run out of at least entree before all your guests go through the line and that does not make for happy campers.)

What is the usual length of time for a picnic?
Most picnics are four to five hours with the buffet being open for one and a half to two hours within that time frame. Beverages are generally available throughout the duration of the event. (Your labor estimate will be based on the event duration you specify.) If you are supplying alcohol, we strongly suggest that alcohol consumption be cut off approximately one hour prior to the end of the event.

What is the minimum guest count needed to book a picnic?
Fifty is the minimum. (Please note that menu pricing is based on a minimum of 75 but are available for 50 at a slight increase per guest; please call for pricing.)

What if I want you to barbecue on location but the site doesn’t have any barbecue pits?
Not to worry – we’ll bring them. Even some of the sites that do have barbecues may not have the right size or may not have them located in the best area. In either case, we’ve got you covered at no additional charge.

Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, our facility is health inspected and permitted by the County and we not only have a business license at our facility but also in many other cities in the Bay Area.  We have an off sale beer and wine license from the ABC (which means that we sell by the case) and are fully insured for General Liability, Auto and Worker’s Comp.
