On Call Picnic Server
The Server provides excellent and professional service to guests, even for our most casual of events & picnics. At all times, servers are expected to be attentive to any guest needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed.
Customary Hours: This is a part-time, on-call position. Most shifts are 5-8 hours, most but not all on weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Setup and replenish buffets, dessert and specialty stations, and beverages.
- Interact and communicate professionally with guests.
- Familiarize self with menu to understand dietary restrictions, food allergies and any special requests.
- Buss service areas.
- Breakdown and clean prep and event areas, including consolidating products and loading on truck.
- Follow proper safety and sanitation procedures.
- Maintain positive customer service attitude
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- No previous experience required; job experience or related industry experience a plus!
- High school diploma preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently; Spanish a plus.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job,
- the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, taste and smell.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch or a combination thereof for 6 to 8 hours at a time. (Most picnics are outdoors in the sun.)
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
On Call Picnic Griller
Grills various meat, vegetable and vegan entrees depending on the menu. Must have experience in grilling hot dogs, hamburgers, ribs, beef and chicken. Responsible for safely setting up and lighting the grill; may also break down the grill/grill area. Assist with other on site kitchen duties as required.
Customary Hours: This is a part-time, on-call position. Most shifts are 6-8 hours, most but not all shifts on weekends.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
Education and Experience:
- Professional cooking experience required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job,
- the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, taste and smell.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch or a combination thereof for 6 to 8 hours at a time. Most picnics are outdoors in the sun.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Picnic Event Lead/Supervisor
Responsible for supervising from initial set up through the end of the event. The supervisor is responsible for
- the coordinating and breaking down of the equipment and insuring it is packed safely ready for transport
- supervising catering staff and vendors on site
- maintaining client contact & ensuring that guests have a safe and enjoyable picnic.
Customary Hours: This is a part-time, on-call position. Most shifts are 8-10 hours.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently; Spanish a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Previous supervisory experience required; catering experience a plus!
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job,
- the employee is regularly required to talk, see, hear, taste and smell.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch or a combination thereof for 6 to 8 hours at a time. Most picnics are outdoors in the sun.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
Other Requirements:
- Proven organization and communication skills
- Must have clean DMV record and evidence of same
- Must have a strong understanding of the way an event is carried out.
- Must be able to work on weekends
